Chiara Ferragni

It's never too late to finish some illustrations you started drawing a couple of months ago. I'm happy to show you my newest illustration inspired by a photo of the blogger Chiara Ferragni wearing an Alexander McQueen sweater.
Is it obvious that I love black and white patterns? If the answer is no, I'm going to have to draw more illustrations in this style (:

Sass & Bide

Hello dear friends...
I have been busy these past two weeks. I was volunteering at ZagrebDox (documentary film festival) and I also had my driving exam, which I passed. So now I'm super happy and looking forward to driving! Since I finally had a free day to draw I got to finish my illustration inspired by a Sass & Bide editorial.
I also have some other news. We started a wordpress blog. The plan is to publish the same content on both blogs, and then we'll decide which site works better for us :) So you can visit us there.

Balmain

Hope you like my newest fashion illustration inspired by Balmain. I found so many inspirational photos lately that at the moment I have 4 works in progress :) There's so much happening lately, almost every day there's either a new editorial, campaign or red carpet that makes me want to draw 24/7. Is it any wonder that I have a problem with focusing only on one illustration with so much inspiration?

Have a great day or night...depending on what time is in your part of the world!

Backstage Fashion

I have to admit that this is the most excited I have ever been about showing you one of my illustrations. When I started drawing it I had no idea it will take more than one day to finish it. Well I can say that I was definitely wrong about that :) Still it was worth it at the end. Especially when I started adding the white areas of the patterns and I loved the contrast it created. Without further ado here is my newest fashion illustration:

Dotted Ladies

Hi everyone!
I'm so happy to show you my dotted ladies. The gowns are made from ink dots. I finished the illustration a couple of days ago but I was focused on finishing another illustration that I will hopefully upload tomorrow because I can't wait for you to see it.

Have an awesome day!

Red Carpet Valetino

Is there anything better than seeing a Valetino gown on the red carpet?
The answer is definitely no! I loved looking at the photos from this year's Golden Globes and my absolute favorite gown was worn by Amy Adams. Since I can't afford one and I doubt I would look as gorgeous as Miss Adams in it I had no other choice but to draw it.

If you want you can leave me a comment about your favorite dress from the Golden Globes and I'll draw it :)

Summer Fashion

Hi friends!
The other day, while searching for a drawing, I had to go through a bunch of papers and only then did I realize that I have a lot of works in progress that I didn't complete. I started finishing those illustrations so now you get to look at my fashion illustration inspired by summer fashion during winter :)
Hope it makes you look forward to those warm months that will soon come.

No longer a WIP :) Now on to the next one!

Happy New Year

Hello dear friends,
first I want to wish you all a Happy New Year. I hope you all celebrated in good company.
I have to say my evening surpassed all my expectations. It was a combination of great friends and listening to an awesome band (whose singer was a David Bowie look alike). What more could a girl wish for? :)

I came across a perfect quote that an amazing artist Red Hong shared on her page and I think you will also like it:
"I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.

So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever."
-"Make Good Art", Neil Gaiman

On the 1st of January was the 1st birthday of this blog. I'm looking forward to sharing more illustrations with you all, to a year filled with learning about new things and making mistakes.

Shoe & Shoes

 Hi guys!
This will be a very short post from me because I'm going on a trip tomorrow, well actually today. I was supposed to go to sleep a couple of hours ago but, as usual, packing things took longer than I planned. I realize some time has past since the last post on this blog, but finally I have something new to show you :)
Hopefully I'll draw some new illustrations while I'm travelling, but since I won't be able to take my scanner with me you can follow me on Instagram (@gypsyballadsandy) and I'll post photos of anything I draw there.
As you can see I was a bit shoe obsessed...

Hope you have a lovely day wherever you are :)
